A full conservatory clean is made up of four parts, and you can ask for all of them or only the ones you need. Listing them separately on the quotation makes it clear what will be done and stops anything being missed.

Roof panels and glazing bars

Polycarbonate scratches more easily than glass, so it is cleaned with soft brushes and water rather than scrubbed. The ends of multiwall sheets can trap dirt where the channels meet the gutter, and that edge is given extra attention. Glass roofs tolerate a little more, but the same gentle approach applies to the seals and caps.

Glazing bars collect a line of growth along each joint. They are worked along their full length so the roof looks consistent rather than leaving clean panels framed by dark strips.

Frames, sills and the conservatory gutter

White uPVC frames go grey and patchy with traffic film and algae, especially on the side facing the garden. They are washed with a suitable cleaner and rinsed, which lifts the surface dirt without attacking the plastic. Badly oxidised frames may brighten without returning to factory white, and that is said up front.

The gutter on a conservatory is small and blocks easily, often with debris washed down from the main roof. It is cleared and the outlet checked so water drains away instead of overflowing down the frames.

Safe access

Conservatory roofs are not built to be walked on. The roof is cleaned from ground level or from the side using reach equipment, so no weight goes on the panels. Where the house wall or a neighbouring structure limits access, that is discussed when the photographs are reviewed.

Inside, it helps to move plants and furniture away from the doors and close any roof vents before the visit, so nothing is splashed while the frames are rinsed.
